More Advice From Your Personal Stylist

Hey again!!!

It’s me, your personal stylist, and I’m here to tell you how to look dece-, I mean cute. Right here I have a new client, her name is _______ ( she would prefer to be anonymous) Right now she’s looking like a self-described hot mess. She’s wearing sky blue eyeshadow; it totally does not compliment her skin tone. And she’s wearing yellow pants and a purple cardigan on top! What kind of nonsense is this???

But, we are going to transform her into a beautiful masterpiece. First let’s start off with the hair. This lady’s hair right now is so dry and mangled. One way to help this is to use conditioning treatments every few days and avoid washing your hair more than three times a week. Along with this, add oils into your hair, not so much that it will show up greasy, but just enough to moisturize your scalp and save the integrity of the hair. A good youtuber for natural 4C and 4B tutorials and advice is Nappy Fu (Tv). I’ve found her videos very insightful and they have helped me find the perfect products to use on curly haired clients.

Now let’s move onto makeup. Makeup is not that hard to master, just find a shadow that compliments your eyes or complexion and your set. Watch makeup tutorials with people who have similar skin tones, or have a look that you are trying to achieve. People with a more pink skin tone should pick colors that are more soft and have pinker pigments. Yellow toned skin can be overpowered with blues and greens, add something that creates a soft finish and compliments your skin. Find something that works and stick with it. Now foundation… Do not be afraid to get a darker color than you think. That pigment on your face is lighter than on the rest of your body, do not try to get something lighter. Take it from me, a lighter foundation on a darker skin tone does not look natural or good. Not all people can use the same kind of foundation either! Oily skin people should use a powder, or even a cream foundation. It will make the skin appear more matte and stay on your skin longer. Dry skin types should first use moisturizer before they even think about putting on any sort of makeup. Along with this, they should be using a wet foundation with a setting powder on top to keep the makeup on all day.

This client has oily skin, so we are going to use a cream foundation to keep the look on ALL DAY.

Now the outfit. Your outfits should be planned out to a T! If you wear a red dress, try a red lip too, By matching, you look more complete and classy.

Anyway, that’s all I got today. Thanks for reading!
